There is hardly anybody these days who has heard nothing about the representatives of emo culture, known as emo boys and emo girls, or in general emo kids. Emo represents youth subculture originated from the amateurs of the style in music with identical name. You can meet emo kids every day, although probably you don't pay attention to their particular style. With an all-round intention to stand out of the crowd each person with a non-standard outward appearance seems like just expressing his own personality. But still, you'll easily recognize emo kids in case you get to know their particular features. Firstly, the notion "emo" originates from the word "emotional", in such a way the basic rule for emo boys and girls is to express their emotions. They are meant to be very sensitive to what's happening around them and intolerant to unfairness. They lay specific emphasis on exalted love. That's the reason why there is a stereotype of emo representatives as weepy girls and boys. Emo boys and girls have a specific style in order that they're easily recognized. Their common hairstyle is a skew fringe covering one eye and short hair standing on end on the back of the head. The preference is shown to straight black hair. Emo girls usually show preference to childish hairstyle, for instance bows and pigtails. Both male and female emo representatives commonly get their ears pierced. They also sometimes have facial piercing as well. Emo kids also generally outline eyes with black mascara or eyeliner, while the lips are close to the color of skin. As for the clothes, emo boys and girls give preference to black color combined with pink. Black color stands for depression caused by being rejected and misunderstood. Pink color underlines bright hopes of emo kids for the future and their challenge to the common gloominess. The 2 colors are common for emo kids, but other provocative combinations of colors are also acceptable. Tight T-shirts, jeans and gymshoes are the most popular clothing for the representatives of emo culture. Emo culture is a particular trend of contemporary young people that helps them to express themselves and find new friends who understand their vulnerable nature.
